Well, I just posted a blog on Hannah's story & now it is time for one Lauren wrote. She, too, had to write about her hero. Here is her story:

My Hero

You all have heard of Superman and Spiderman...right? You know how they're all heros. Well, I have a Real hero.

The hero is my daddy. The reason that my daddy is my hero is because he has a disease called MD. That means he has no muscles. Which means he should have been bedridden 25 years ago.

But, he isn't. He just walks very slow and is very skinny. He is a walking miracle. He also gives me lots of love.

That's why he is my hero. Even though he has a disease that makes him have aches and pains, he still gets through it. That makes him a True hero. He is a true hero.

I have to say when she read it to us, I cried. I don't know who better to be a hero to a child than my husband. I know he is my hero & I thank God for him everyday. He is truly a wonderful man of God. I have seen how God has molded him & used him in mighty ways. He is a wonderful example of perseverance. He never gave in to muscular dystrophy. He never let it control his life. God had a plan when he came into this world. God blessed him with an incredible talent & a geniune love for people. He "draws all men unto Him". I believe that was God's plan!

So, both of my girls chose Godly men for heros. What more could a mother ask for?

In His Love~
This past school year, Hannah had to write a story in class on her hero. Read her story:

My Hero

The hero you are going to read about is my hero, Adam Crabb. He is very brave and sweet. He can also be a great friend. He is 27 yrs. old and sings with his sister, Terah, in a group called Crabb Revival. Not to mention, I have a huge crush on him! The reason he is my hero is when I went to one of his concerts, I wasn't really listening to christain music. But, when I heard him sing again I wanted to listen to his CD all the time! He is a great guy and a great person to be around. And he is very talented. That's why Adam Crabb is my hero!

You know, not many kids her age would say that they have a hero who is in gospel music. I thank God for the influence that the Crabb Family has had on my children. My girls love them & know every song they've ever done. Of course, Hannah knows every song ADAM does! haha I pray that my girls will always cling to God & not be swayed by the world. They've got a good start!

We are so proud of them. They each have a job in our ministry & they take it very seriously. We wanted them to be a part of our ministry....not just sit there & listen to Mom & Dad sing songs that they've heard over & over.....it's their ministry, too. They can serve God at an earlier age than Michael & I did. They can be a Light to their classmates or friends that maybe don't know God. God has a plan for their life & I pray we have gotten them started in the right direction. God's word says to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Prov. 22:6 That's what we are trying to do, because God only loans us our children....it's up to us as parents to train them in the right way.

If you are a parent reading this....tell your child to keep Jesus first in their life. Because He truly is the Way, the Truth, & the Life.

In His Love~
Greetings!!
It has been a while since I posted a blog & I want to apologize for the long delay. These past few months have been hectic to say the least! I received an email not long ago & just wanted to share with you. It's a email that has been around for several years, but I love it every time I read it. We should all practice the following!! I felt it was appropriate since Spring is here & people are planting their gardens.

How To Plant Your Garden

First, you Come to the garden alone,
while the dew is still on the roses....

FOR THE GARDEN OF YOUR DAILY LIVING,

PLANT THREE ROWS OF PEAS:

1. Peace of mind
2. Peace of heart
3. Peace of soul

PLANT FOUR ROWS OF SQUASH:

1. Squash gossip
2. Squash indifference
3. Squash grumbling
4. Squash selfishness

PLANT FOUR ROWS OF LETTUCE:

1. Lettuce be faithful
2. Lettuce be kind
3. Lettuce be patient
4. Lettuce really love one another

NO GARDEN IS WITHOUT TURNIPS:

1. Turnip for meetings
2. Turnip for service
3. Turnip to help one another

TO CONCLUDE OUR GARDEN WE MUST HAVE THYME:

1. Thyme for each other
2. Thyme for family
3. Thyme for friends

WATER FREELY WITH PATIENCE AND CULTIVATE WITH LOVE. THERE IS MUCH FRUIT IN YOUR GARDEN BECAUSE YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. NOT BAD,HUH?!

I hope you enjoyed this & that you have a very Blessed Garden!
In His Love~
Lila

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation."
Isaiah 12:2

Salvation....what a wonderful word. Knowing that Jesus loved us enough to die & give us His salvation...to be able to leave this life & live with Him for Eternity. No pain, no suffering, no tears, no worries, just.....wonderful Joy.

These past few months have been difficult for our family. We watched as Michael's brother, Raleigh, fought throat cancer with all he had. We prayed & asked several of you to pray with us for his healing. God heard & answered our prayers several times. In the last days of Raleigh's life, we prayed for God's mercy. Again, God heard & answered. Raleigh's battle with cancer ended on Dec. 31, 2007. Cancer was defeated & Raleigh's suffering ended. To be absent of this world is to be present with the Lord. We have praised God for the work He did in Raleigh's life. We are saddened because we can't go see Raleigh anymore, but we have Hope through Jesus Christ that we can be reunited with him one day. Raleigh was ready to meet Jesus and what joy that gives us that loved him.

Through the grief we have felt, God has been our strength & our song. We are to rejoice because another one has gone Home, so we have been rejoicing & praising Him. God has comforted us like only He can. He is the One you can trust and rely on in a time of need. His word tells us that "He will never leave or forsake" one of His children. He is with me now as I type these words for you to read. He is my peace & my joy.

God has a purpose for this particular blog. He guides me in the words He would have me say to you. If you are reading this & you don't know Jesus or you have loved ones who aren't saved; cry out to God. He will hear your cries & He will answer your prayers. He is a wonderful & merciful God. He loves each and every one of us. He doesn't want one of His children to be condemned to an eternity without Him. His word speaks of "leaving the 99 to go after the 1 that was lost". If you are that "one", God is speaking to you. Listen to Him, let Him love you back into the fold. He gives us Hope. He doesn't ask for anything from you except your love & your heart. God is the best choice you will ever make in your life. I can't imagine living in this world without Him to guide me. On my own, I can make a mess of everything, but with "Christ, I can do ALL things..."

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Aren't you glad that we have a Savior who has overcome everything Satan throws at us? Sickness, marital problems, child problems...the list could go on. The devil has been working overtime to steal our joy & peace. But, Jesus overcame any problem we might have at Calvary. He loves us so much that He took on ALL our sin and shame, so that we could spend eternity with Him. He is our tower of strength and refuge.

You, or a loved one, may be facing a challenge that you don't understand or think that you don't have the strength to endure. Remember, you are not alone.....Jesus is with you every step of the way. When you are at your weakest, He is His strongest......He will carry you. Don't ever lose faith. Trust Him with your life. He knows best.

Hebrews 12:1 says, "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."

If you have read this and you don't have the peace of knowing what eternity holds for you.....call on the mighty name of Jesus. Ask Him to come into your heart & forgive you of your sins. The bible says, "confess it with your mouth, believe it in your heart and thou shalt be saved." If you have done that, you are on your way to an eternity with Him & you took your first step to overcoming the challenges in your life.

O Sing Unto the Lord a New Song for He hath done Marvelous things! As a Christian, we all have a new song to sing. Jesus gave us that new song the minute we asked Him into our heart. We are to sing our song to the unbelievers & tell them of His great love. He has done the most marvelous thing for us....giving His life for you & I, covering us with His precious blood. That is the song He gave us to share with the world. He loves us. So, are you "singing your song" for Him?

This world we live in can sometimes get you out of tune with Him. You miss a beat & struggle to go on. The enemy clouds your mind & tries to choke out your song. The melody is faint, but it's still there. Jesus never leaves you or forsakes you. He allows you to make choices & sometimes we, as humans, make the wrong choices. He gives us guidelines in His Word....In all thy ways acknowledge Him & He shall direct thy paths. If we followed that verse more, chances are we wouldn't miss a beat with Him & our song would still be in tune.

So, go sing the new song He has given you. Ask Him for His guidance in everything you do.....and your Melody will be beautiful music for all to hear!
